Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer! I can attest to this. My constant need to explore and gain new experiences has brought me such rewarding experiences that money can’t buy! Strangers have become friends, new cities have become familiar, my fears have been greatly tested and overcome!
In the past two years I have been very fortunate to have been able to visit a few major cities around the world. At times I’ve had company and at times I’ve done it solo. My solo travels have been the most interesting and I’ve grown to prefer them more! There are no distractions, I set my own schedule and I’ve made a lot more new friends this way.
I’ve been lost a few times! It’s scary and exciting! Been clueless on the metro in Dubai when I didn’t realize I was in a men only car until the stares got uncomfortable and a kind passenger finally clued me in. A language barrier in Paris didn’t hinder me from getting around the city on my own. A server in one of those charming street side cafés exclaimed “oh la la!” at me with a pitiful look on his face when I told him I was dining alone. I just chuckled as I found it rather amusing. My being unaccompanied was in no way a hindrance! I was in Paris!! I have also fallen victim of a scam in Bangkok! It turned out to work in my favor actually! Crazy! I will explore more on this when I detail my trip to this part of the world.
Free wifi has been the best two-word combo during my travels abroad! Sydney was impressive with this! There were signs everywhere at Bondi Beach to remind you of the availability of free wifi! I was beyond grateful for this!
As much I love international travel, I enjoy keeping it local too! There are plenty of overlooked spots in familiar places right in my locale/backyard. I strive to constantly feed my soul with these new experiences.
More to come…
