My trip to Napa Valley was greatly inspired by the movie Sideways. The film is about a struggling writer and wine enthusiast Miles (Paul Giamatti) takes his engaged friend, Jack (Thomas Haden Church), on a trip to wine country for a last single-guy bonding experience.
I was in San Francisco at the time and Napa being just an hour away became an obvious stop. While I am no wine enthusiast, I have always wanted to visit this part of the world mainly for a new travel experience, a legitimate wine tasting experience that includes stomping on grapes and also figure out what I truly preferred when it comes to wine! Surprisingly red wine specifically Cabernet Sauvignon was a hit with my palette. I had always despised red wine. My palette took a dramatic turn on me! An upgrade from Moscato.
Napa Valley is such a beautiful place! Seems like the air is cleaner there! Maybe it was the abundance of wineries or the expansive vineyards that add to it’s beauty, the many social activities constantly happening or the many great restaurants. It was a day well spent and I would gladly return!
