Los Angeles
I have to been Los Angeles a few times but not while in-transit. I had a 10 hour layover in LA before a long 16hr hour flight to Sydney. Instead of sitting at the airport on uncomfortable chairs watching the clock move, i chose to make the most of my layover. My decision was was greatly inspired by Anthony Bourdain’s show Layover on the Travel Channel.
Multi-city stops are quickly becoming a favorite because I get to visit more than one city with just one go. I find myself picking long layovers to allow this.
During this visit to LA, a dear friend offered to be my chauffeur as we explored parts of Los Angeles that I had never made time for in the past. I wanted to play tourist in my limited time.
First stop was the famous Venice Beach for some sun, casual stroll and shopping. Then we drove through Beverly Hills to see the impressive homes and great neighborhood! I grew up watching Beverly Hills 90210 and was always fascinated by it. A sight seeing trip to LA is not complete if you don’t visit Rodeo Drive.
By the time we were done, it was time to head back to the airport after indulging in one for the flight of course:)
